NYC Marathon Recap: Congrats Team NYJL 2017

The 2017 New York City Marathon on Sunday, November 5 brought more than 50,000 runners from 125 countries, all 50 states, and our 13 amazing NYJL volunteers through the iconic 26.2 mile journey across the five boroughs.

We are so proud of our Team NYJL runners for their inspiring dedication to training and fundraising over the past year! Thanks to their incredible effort our runners raised close to $50,000, all of which will be used to help fund charitable activities of the NYJL.

Our 2017 Team NYJL ranged from first-timers to a seventh-time marathon runner; included natives from NYC, Chicago, Mississippi, Alabama, Maryland, Long Island, and upstate New York; and committee members from Astor House Events, Crisis Intervention, Specialty Events, Transfers, Archives & Photography, Volunteer Education & Training, Senior Friends, CHEF, Performance of a Lifetime, and Provisional Training.

From the sidelines, a sea of green hats and NYJL signs cheered on our runners with excitement and encouragement at various cheer stations throughout the city. Thanks to our amazing NYJL volunteers for coming out to show your support!
