125th Leadership Symposium: Developing Leaders for Change

For 125 years, the NYJL has trained women to be leaders in their professions, on nonprofit boards, and within their communities. The 125th Leadership Symposium will honor that tradition by equipping the next generation of leaders with tools for modern civic engagement.

This forward-looking program will be open to both NYJL members and non-members and will feature distinguished speakers and dynamic discussions centered on leadership, service, and impact.

Mary Harriman’s Birthday and the Power of Purpose Book Launch

November 17 • 7:00 p.m. • Astor House

In honor of the birthday of New York Junior League founder Mary Harriman, we will gather on November 17 to celebrate her vision and the women who continue to carry it forward.

As part of our milestone anniversary, the NYJL will publish Power of Purpose: 125 Years of the New York Junior League. This special publication documents the NYJL’s history, showcasing defining moments of service and advocacy while honoring the members whose dedication has sustained our mission across generations.

In celebration of our 125th Anniversary, Tea Over Time Exhibition & Events honored generations of women who have shaped the New York Junior League’s legacy. Hosted at the NYJL’s beloved headquarters, The Astor House, this special series offered two sumptuous daytime tea events and an evening reception.

Savor the Spring: A Night Through the Decades

 

On Saturday, April 25, 2026, the New York Junior League celebrated 125 years of impact, leadership, and service at its signature fundraising event, Savor the Spring: A Night Through the Decades.

Attendees stepped into an immersive, multi-room experience as The Astor House transformed into a journey through time – each space honoring a distinct era of NYJL and New York City history, from its Gilded Age beginnings to a bold, future-forward vision of the next 125 years.
