Susan Fisher
Susan Fisher is a Director at Large on the Board of Directors and Sustainer, having joined the NYJL upon coming to NYC after graduation from Duke University in the 1980s. She has participated in many community activities through the League, including the Video committee that made a lobbying video for Albany leaders advocating for home health care, an option that was not available for most seniors at that time. Outside of the League, Susan’s careers span in Clinical Psychology, Computer Software marketing, Wall Street, and founding her own import-export company out of Vietnam. She has always remained active in nonprofits, usually related to education initiatives for children from low income families—everything from one-on-one tutoring to an entrepreneurship afterschool program in the South Bronx to 15 years chairing the volunteer efforts of Project Cicero, which annually collects and redistributes 150,000 children’s books and whom she linked with the NYJL’s DIAD committee ten years ago. She and her husband live in NYC, where they raised their two sons.
