125 Report

For 125 years, the NYJL has stood at the heart of New York City’s philanthropic community, empowering women, transforming neighborhoods, and advancing opportunity through volunteer action. In honor of this occasion, we are delighted to share our landmark anniversary report Bridging the Gaps: Strengthening NYC’s Human Services Infrastructure for Families and the Future.

This report stems directly from our 125th Anniversary Community Forum Breakfast in April. Following a fireside chat with Kathryn S. Wylde, former President & CEO of Partnership for New York City, community leaders and nonprofit experts convened for an executive discussion on the most pressing challenges facing organizations and agencies in New York City.

We have synthesized those valuable insights — along with findings from a city-wide survey of nonprofits and interviews with executives — into this report. We hope this report will serve as a meaningful resource for nonprofits, grantmakers, and political leaders alike.
