You may have heard some buzz about our 115th Anniversary.

115 years.

You can’t help and pause when you think about that number. Mary Harriman’s spirit and courage has helped us each turn our compassion into action for 115 years.

For 115 years we’ve been at the forefront of tackling some of NYC’s thorniest issues – addressing critical concerns of New Yorkers and acting as an advocate for our neighbors in need.

For 115 years our training has been developing highly qualified volunteers like you. Women who can identify our community’s most pressing needs and address them through meaningful and relevant programs that continuously improve countless lives in NYC. And, helped change the way NYers think.

After Mary Harriman is inducted into the National Women’s Hall of Fame on Oct 2, we’ll kick off our 115th Anniversary commemorating her life at a Mary Harriman Birthday Party hosted by Affiliation and Archives and Photography committees on November 17. Then, from January 2016 to December 2016, we’ll celebrate not only our history but each of your contributions to our legacy and our future!

Just as Mary Harriman would have it, there will be many opportunities for everyone to get involved. From a series of special VTLs to recording volunteer stories to 115 reasons why we volunteer with the NYJL to helping us to build a 115 social media profile, and more! If you’re interested in being more than a participant, please don’t hesitate to get in touch… email us at 115Anniversary@nyjl.org.
