NYJL’s Cancer Awareness & Support Committee Honored by Breast Treatment Task Force

On October 4th, the New York Junior League’s Cancer Awareness & Support (CAS) committee was honored by the Breast Treatment Task Force (BTTF) for the committee’s outstanding volunteerism. CAS has partnered with BTTF for three years, providing volunteer hours to support their Screening Program.

NYJL volunteers assist in the scheduling and confirmation of mammogram appointments with the Project Renewal Scan Van. Our volunteers also participate in the Diagnostic Program, where they accompany patients to their follow-up appointments after receiving an abnormal mammogram result.

CAS is honored to partner with BTTF to ensure women have access to the screening, education, and treatment needed to prevent and treat breast cancer. BTTF has facilitated more than $13 million in medical care for hundreds of uninsured patients since the program’s inception in December 2006.

Strengthening the families of the greater New York area.
