Stanley M. Isaacs Center Celebrated at Winter Ball
On March 3, the NYJL is excited to host our signature fundraiser, Winter Ball. While we are celebrating our volunteers and raising money to support our community initiatives, we will also be honoring one of our long-time community partners, the Stanley M. Isaacs Neighborhood Center.
NYJL volunteers have the privilege of working with the Stanley M. Isaacs Neighborhood Center on three of community programs, Artistic Journeys, Beacon to Broadway, and Passport to the World, which are designed to help students build confidence and self-esteem by encouraging self-expression.
“As co-chairs, we were invited to start a brand new committee to highlight various cultural and artistic experiences. Our mission is to educate children on the cultures and viewpoints from around the world. We couldn’t have done and achieved all the success without the help and support of Stanley M. Isaacs. Kudos to their commitment to children!” – Saumya Shetty, Passport to the World Committee Co-Chair
“Each Wednesday, I look forward to seeing the smiling, happy faces of the kids in the Artistic Journeys program. Artistic Journeys is so much more than ‘arts and crafts’ – we teach hands-on lessons explaining artistic movements and techniques, offer a space for the students to express themselves through art, and foster healthy, meaningful mentor relationships. It’s fascinating to watch them experience new artistic mediums and create their own unique work – and they say the funniest things!” – Emily McAuliffe, Artistic Journeys Committee Co-Chair
There is still time to get your ticket to Winter Ball! The NYJL Winter Ball is a special evening, bringing together volunteers, family, and friends to honor recipients of our Outstanding Sustainer and Outstanding Volunteer Awards, the NYJL’s highest honor. Our largest fundraiser also celebrates both our community projects and our women volunteers who dedicate themselves to New York City. Winter Ball proceeds make our community work in NYC possible.
