Meet Team NYJL! – Part 3

On Sunday, November 6, a group of 12 NYJL volunteers and friends will run the TCS New York City Marathon in support of the New York Junior League! These men and women have committed to training for the 26.2-mile journey while raising funds to support the NYJL. Team NYJL has a collective fundraising goal of $59,000 – all of which will support the charitable activities of the NYJL. During the next few weeks, we will be showcasing these incredible women and sharing a little bit more about each of them.

Elizabeth Garber DanielsElizabeth Garber Daniels

This is Elizabeth’s second year running the NYC marathon as a member of Team NYJL. She enjoys running because it helps her to clear her head and keep in shape so she can run after her active two and half year old son.

Katie CookKatie Cook

Running in her third NYC marathon, Katie loves getting outdoors and clearing her head during a long run and feeling a great sense of accomplishment and pride. The past two times Katie ran the NYC marathon she did it on her own. She is running with Team NYJL this time because she is passionate about the organization, one that she has been involved with for nearly a decade.

Lauren GoodwinLauren Goodwin

An avid spectator of the NYC marathon, this will be Lauren’s first year running the NYC marathon. While training she has been able to untie problems in her mind, explore new places and feel good about herself! As a staff member at the NYJL, she is uniquely privileged to see a 360-degree view of the NYJL and the incredible work that the volunteers do.

Lauren GoodwinAnnmarie Carey

A new NYJL volunteer, Annmarie knew she wanted to run the NYC marathon before she even joined the NYJL and knew that Team NYJL existed. Since joining the NYJL, Annmarie has met “some of the most amazing women” that are an inspiration in their commitment to improving the lives of women and children across the city. She is excited to be a part of the team and is thankful to her friends and family for being so supportive and understanding.
