Name
Mailing address

Credit card number
Pin/Access code
Home or business phone number

Email Information
If you choose to correspond further with us through email, we may retain the content of your email messages together with your email address and our responses.

2. Site Use Information
Similar to many other web sites, our Site utilizes a standard technology called “cookies” (see explanation below, “What Are Cookies?”) and Web server logs to collect information about how our Site is used. Information gathered through cookies and Web server logs may include the date and time of visits, the pages viewed, time spent at our Site, and the web sites visited just before and just after our Site. This information is collected on an aggregate basis. None of this information is associated with you as an individual.

HOW DO WE USE THE INFORMATION THAT YOU PROVIDE TO US?
Broadly speaking, we use personal information for the purposes of administering our business activities and for providing customer service to our donors, customers, members, Site users and prospective donors and customers. Occasionally, we may also use the information we collect to notify you about important changes to our Site, and new services and special events we think you will find valuable. The lists used to send you this information are developed and managed using commercially reasonable measures designed to safeguard the security and privacy of our Site users’ personal information.
Any personal information and other information that you provide and post, whether in your Profile as a registered member of the Site (“Registered Member”) or otherwise, in connection with your use of the Services is accessible by other Registered Members and is done at your own risk. A primary function of the Services is to allow you to share your information and communicate and network with other Registered Members. Some information, messages, posts or other content once posted, depending on the type and how posted, may not be removable by you, and information about you posted by NYJL or other sources might not be removable by you.

NYJL is not responsible for the actions of Registered Members or any other person with whom you may share your personal information or any other information, and cannot guarantee that the personal information or any other information you make available to other Registered Members or Site users via your Profile or your use of the Services will not be viewed by unauthorized persons. For example, Registered Members having access to the Services may, by their actions, make your personal information, your Profile or other information generally available to the public. This Privacy Statement does not apply to the use by any other Registered Member or Site user of any information you make available to them in connection with your use of the Services.

No method of security can provide absolute protection and we are not responsible for the breach or other failure of any privacy settings or security measures contained in the Services. You understand and acknowledge that, even after any information you make available via your Profile and through your use of the Services is deleted or removed from the Services, copies of such information may continue to be viewable (i) if contained in cached or archived pages or (ii) if any of such information has been copied or stored by another Site user, any person with whom you may have shared your information or any person that accessed your information without authorization.

WHAT ARE COOKIES?
Cookies are a feature of Web browser software that allows Web servers to recognize the computer used to access a Site. Cookies are small pieces of data that are stored by a user’s Web browser on the user’s hard drive. Cookies can remember what information a user accesses on one Web page to simplify subsequent interactions with that Site by the same user or to use the information to streamline the user’s transactions on related Web pages. This makes it easier for a user to move from Web page to Web page and to complete commercial transactions over the Internet. Cookies should make your online experience easier and more personalized.

HOW DO WE USE INFORMATION WE COLLECT FROM COOKIES?
We use website browser software tools such as cookies and Web server logs to gather information about our Site users’ browsing activities, in order to constantly improve our Site and better serve our users. This information assists us to design and arrange our Web pages in the most user-friendly manner and to continually improve our Site to better meet the needs of our users.

Cookies help us collect important business and technical statistics. The information in the cookies lets us trace the paths followed by users to our Site as they move from one page to another. Web server logs allow us to count how many people visit our Site and evaluate our Site’s visitor capacity. We do not use these technologies to capture your individual email address or any personally identifying information about you although they do permit us to send focused information or other such responses to you.

NOTICE OF NEW SERVICES AND CHANGES
Occasionally, we may also use the information we collect to notify you about important changes to our Site, new services and special offers we think you will find valuable. As a user of our Site, you will be given the opportunity to notify us of your desire not to receive these offers by clicking on a response box when you receive such an offer or by sending us an email request here.

HOW DO WE SECURE INFORMATION TRANSMISSIONS?
When you send credit card information to us on our Site to make a donation, purchase a product, Services or tickets or pay house account or dues, a secure server software which we have licensed encrypts all information you input before it is sent to us. The information is scrambled en route and decoded once it reaches our Site.

Other email transmissions that you may send to us may not be secure unless we advise you that security measures will be in place prior to your transmitting the information. For that reason, we ask that you do not send confidential information, such as Social Security or account numbers, to us through an unsecured email.

HOW DO WE PROTECT YOUR INFORMATION?

1. Information Security.
We utilize encryption/security software to safeguard the confidentiality of personal information we collect from unauthorized access or disclosure and accidental loss, alteration or destruction.

2. Evaluation of Information Protection Practices.
Periodically, our operations and business practices are reviewed for compliance with corporate policies and procedures governing the security, confidentiality and quality of our information.

3. Employee Access, Training and Expectations.
Our corporate values, ethical standards, policies and practices are committed to the protection of personal information. In general, our business practices limit employee access to personal information, and limit the use and disclosure of such information to authorized persons, processes and transactions.

HOW CAN YOU ACCESS AND CORRECT YOUR INFORMATION?
You may request access to all your personally identifiable information that we collect online and maintain in our database by emailing us here. If you are a member of NYJL and a Registered Member, you may access and revise any of the information contained in your Profile by logging in to the Site and clicking on or editing your Profile. When you share any personal information or other information through your use of the Services, you may not have the ability to revise, update or delete all such information in all cases.

DO WE DISCLOSE INFORMATION TO OUTSIDE PARTIES?
We may provide aggregate information about our members, customers, sales, Site traffic patterns and related Site information to our affiliates, service providers or reputable third parties, but this information will not include personally identifying data, except as otherwise provided in this Privacy Statement. If you are a member of NYJL, certain of your personal information and other information will be shared with The Association of Junior Leagues International, Inc. (“AJLI”), a nonprofit organization that NYJL is a member of, and AJLI may display the information on its website to its registered users as part of its One Network directory or other directory.

In connection with our continued operations, we may combine (whether by merger, consolidation, purchase or other method) with another entity or transfer or sell a portion or all of the operations or the assets of NYJL to another entity. In the event of any of these types of transactions, all or some your personal information may be among the assets transferred or may come under the control of the new entity.

WHAT ABOUT LEGALLY COMPELLED DISCLOSURE OF INFORMATION?
We may disclose information when legally compelled to do so, in other words, when we, in good faith, believe that the law requires it or for the protection of our legal rights.

WHAT ABOUT OTHER WEB SITES LINKED TO OUR WEB SITE?
We are not responsible for the practices employed by web sites linked to or from our Site nor the information or content contained therein. Often links to other web sites are provided solely as pointers to information on topics that may be useful to the users of our Site.

Please note that when you use a link to go from our Site to another web site, our Privacy Statement and Terms are no longer in effect. The collection and use of your information and your browsing and interaction on any other web site, including web sites which have a link on our Site, is subject to that web site’s own rules and policies. Please read over those rules and policies before proceeding.

USE OF THE SERVICES BY CHILDREN
NYJL does not intend for use of the Services by children under 13 years of age, as further described in the Terms and does not knowingly collect personal information or other information from people under 13 years of age.

A NOTE TO NON- UNITED STATES RESIDENTS:
NYJL is located in the United States and operates this site from the United States. Any information that you provide to us will be transferred out of your home country to the United States. By providing personal information or other information to us, you are consenting to its transfer to and storage in the United States and to its use and disclosure as described in this Privacy Statement. The United States may not afford statutory protections for personal information equivalent to those afforded by your home country.
